Pinnick to Commission France, Belgium S’final Tomorrow

Embattled President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has been confirmed as the Match Commissioner for the 2018 FIFA World Cup first semi final match between France and Belgium in Saint Petersburg tomorrow. The match will begin at 7pm Nigeria time.

The potentially explosive clash at the 67,000-capacity Zenit Arena will be the fifth match Pinnick would commission at the finals in Russia.

He remains the only Nigerian involved at such high level of operation at the FIFA World Cup. That match will bring together some of the best artists of the round leather game in the universe at the present, including France’s Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe, and Belgium’s Romelo Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard.

Last Friday in Nizhny Novgorod, Pinnick was also the Match Commissioner of the quarter final clash between France and Uruguay which the Blues won.

BREAKING: Decomposing Body Of Ex-Ondo Deputy Gov’s Daughter Is Found

Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, has been found dead, Sahara Reporters learnt on Sunday.

Miss Oluboyo popularly, known as ‘Princess Nikky’, was found dead with her body already decomposing at the weekend in Akure, the Ondo State capital, few days after she was declared missing.

The final-year student of Educational Management at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State was last seen in the company of her boyfriend.

One of the sources told Sahara Reporters on phone that Miss Oluboyo had earlier been declared “kidnapped” by her family members when she no heard from her for days.

The source explained that the former Deputy Governor’s daughter had left the campus and travelled to Akure for a personal engagement until she was found dead.

“She told some of us who are very close to her in the school that she was traveling to Akure to collect some documents concerning her trip.

“The next day, we could not immediately reach out to her but someone said she called to inform that she might probably sleep over at her boyfriend’s place.

“We began to worry and called her boyfriend but that one said he did not see her, then we called her parents to tell them we could not find their daughter who left school for Akure.

“Immediately, the parents started searching everywhere and she was declared missing until yesterday (Saturday) that we heard she had been found dead.

“Now, everyone especially her family, is bereaved about the sorrowful incident because this is gruesome death.”

The source also added that Khadijat's boyfriend identified as Alao Adeyemi had been fingered in her gruesome death.

All efforts by SaharaReporters to get the reaction of Mr. Femi Joseph, spokesman of the Ondo State Police Command, proved abortive.

The calls made to his line were not connecting, while text messages also sent have not been delivered as of the time of filling this report.

However, another source told SaharaReporters that the murder case had been reported at the station and was currently being investigated.

“Yes, the corpse was found on Saturday but I am not in the best position to give details,” he said. “All I know is that we, the police, have launched a full-scale investigation into the case.”

Her last words was "I love you Lolu"

Today , the name Lolu would easily ring a bell in the Nigerian entertainment scene , all thanks to the recently concluded Big Brother Naija reality television show. Even though the young man has succeeded in attaining fame , he is sad that his mother is not alive to see how far he has gone in life.

In a chat with Saturday Beats , the reality show star said that even though his mother died about eight years ago , he is still pained that she did not live long enough to reap the fruit of her labour .

He said , “ The last thing my mother said to me was , ‘ call me tomorrow after your sister’ s exams , I love you . ’ It has been eight years but it still feels like yesterday , I had to grow up really quickly and be more responsible .

Sometimes , I try to find comfort in the fact that she had to go for me to grow. As you may be aware , I’ ll rather have her here but I have a great father and my siblings are the best anyone could wish for , Olaide and Ololade especially . I hope my mum is looking down and smiling . Naturally , I am sad but it is the reality of my life and I am doing my best to handle it . I am her only son and the bond we shared was quite strong. I love her more every day but mum ’ s little boy has to keep his head up and keep pushing till I ’ m successful as she always hoped and prayed that I’ d be. ”
Lolu told Saturday Beats that he has no plans for marriage at the moment simply because he still has a lot to accomplish and he does not want to be distracted. “ As much as I crave to be a really good husband and dad , I am not in a hurry to get married . At this point , it is imperative that I focus on my career as much as I can . Anto and I will remain friends, and if we decide to be together , then it will be something I would envisage would lead to the altar . It is a privilege to have all the love I get from the ladies , I try to be as friendly as I can but also quick to draw the line. I am blessed to have such a followership from women all over the world and the support they show keeps me going, ” he said .

Krizbeat react to Pana's beat

Ademola Olonilua and Timileyin Akinkahunsi
Krizbeatz is fast becoming a popular name in the Nigerian music scene . Apart from producing Tekno ’ s hit song , Pana , in 2016, he has produced songs like ‘ Temper’ by Skales , ‘ For Life’ by Runtown, ‘ Shele Gan Gan ’ by Lil Kesh , ‘ Weekend Vibe ’ by Seyi Shay , but to mention a few .

He has also produced for foreign artistes like Drake , Omarion, TY Dollar sign , Diamond Platnumz and Vanessa Mdee.
While speaking with Saturday Beats , Krizbeatz revealed that even though Tekno ’ s song , ‘ Pana ’ was one of the biggest songs in 2016 , he didn’ t originally produce the beat for Tekno .

He explained, “ I met Tekno online and he told me he wanted us to work together because I usually shared beats with him online. I went to his house , played him some beats and he liked them . But there was a particular day he visited my studio while I was producing for another musician .

Apparently, the artiste didn’ t like the beat but Tekno fell in love with it . We later had an agreement that I should make another beat for the artiste while Tekno took the first one . ”

According to him , when the original owner of the beat heard ‘ Pana , ’ he called him to commend his effort but didn’ t know it was the same beat that he rejected.

He said , “ Even when I told him it was the beat he rejected, he argued that it was better than what he heard . I guess since Tekno is a very good producer as well , he knows what good beats sound like . But I didn’ t know he was a producer until I visited his house .

“ I laugh when people say Tekno is arrogant because he is one of the most humble people I have met. In life , if you are known for always speaking your mind , people perceive it as arrogance. ”

Despite his success, Krizbeat admitted that it was not a jolly ride to attract top musicians at a time .
He narrated , “ It was really a challenge to get people to hear what I had to offer at a time .

There is the belief that once a song is not produced by a known producer , it is not good enough. I went to some artistes and tried to convince them to listen to my production , but they never did .

“ I can never forget how I was treated and felt when I went to a very popular artiste ’ s house . I took a yellow taxi cab and I ended up spending N 50 , 000 in a day without achieving anything . He said we should reschedule the meeting and he didn’ t call me back until I became who I am today . But I didn’ t behave as if we had met before when he reached out to me . ”

Nigerian celebrities what have you done to stop killings? –Blackface

Ademola Olonilua and Timileyin Akinkahunsi
Popular singer, Blackface , is currently unhappy about the spate of killings around the country. Sadly, his state , Benue , seems to be one of the worst hit by suspected killer herdsmen .

In a chat with Saturday Beats, he said that the killings around the country would have reduced if only Nigerian singers unite with one voice to speak against the menace . “ They have killed a lot of people from my village , Agatu , in Benue . They have also killed people in Makurdi, and other places in Benue ; then as they move up north to Adamawa , the trail of dead bodies continues . It does not affect my state alone. Sadly, the musicians are not doing anything about it . Some musicians just claim that they help victims either to gain public praises or for political reasons . Why can ’ t we come together and think of ways we can stop the killings probably by staging a concert ?” he said .

The singer further told Saturday Beats that as a socially conscious singer , he has always sung about the ills of the society but the radio stations would not play his songs because he is in their bad books.

The singer claimed that ever since he raised the alarm that certain singers stole some of his songs , he became blacklisted by the media. “ I did a song which preaches against the killings but radio stations would not play it because I am in their bad books. Simply because I said some people stole my songs , that is why they placed me in their bad books. I know there is a plan against me . I am an independent musician and I do not need Tuface to push my music . If I release a song titled , ‘ Stop the killings , ’ and the radio big boys do not play it , only a few people would listen to the message I am preaching which is of national benefit . The so - called big OAPs like Freeze , who is always talking about pastors , are on the radio but they are not doing anything to push socially conscious songs that preach a message . But if Tekno sings a ‘ Jogodo’ , they will gladly play it . Their nonchalant attitude would destroy a lot of things and only bring more chaos . I have always advised the younger artistes to seek the permission of older artistes before they use their songs but no one listened . Wizkid took my song , ‘ Whine it , ’ sang it with Banky W and put it on his album , ‘ Starboy. ’

That same song is on my album , ‘ Dancehall business . ’ When I raised the alarm , the whole media kicked against me and they stopped playing my music . Yet they say I am the bad one . How long would they keep sabotaging me ?” he said .

Macron's visit Fela would have been happy

The New Afrika Shrine recently played host to the French President Emmanuel Macron , and during his visit , he was treated to undiluted African hospitality .

While speaking to Saturday Beats during the week about France number one citizen ’ s visit , Yeni Kuti described how Fela would have felt if he was alive during the French president ’ s visit.

“ Fela would have been very happy because while he was alive , he was happy that the government of France recognised him , his struggles and music . French people were the first Europeans to connect to Afrobeat; that is why there is a sustained relationship between the Kuti family and France .

“ The president had been to the shrine when he was a very young man and he even made a comment that he never knew he would come back to the shrine as president. He really had fun when he came and enjoyed Femi ’ s performance .

However , he didn’ t want to disrupt the flow of the shrine ; he just wanted to enjoy his visit . But as a president, his arrival had to be guarded with strict protocols, ” she said .

The French president was flanked by dignitaries and Nigerian celebrities alike when he visited The New Afrika Shrine. Yeni said that she saw a lot of new faces at the shrine for the first time .

“ I saw a lot of people there who had never been to the shrine before ; many people were there for the first time in their life . I was even shocked , ” she told Saturday Beat.

Meanwhile , Nollywood actor cum politician , Desmond Elliot , has revealed why Macron visited the Shrine .

Elliot , who is one of the people excited by the recent visit of the French President , told
Saturday Beats , that the French President wanted to know about Africa and where Afrobeat originated from .

He stated , “The French President wanted to know things about Africa and everyone around the globe knew the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti , the originator of Afrobeat. For him to know Africa first hand , Macron knew he needed to come to the Shrine and there was no better place to host him than the place he could see Africa at its best .

“ The entertainment industry is proud and this has raised the bar for the industry . It is so huge for a sitting president of a European country to visit the Shrine and he enjoyed everything about Africa . I am a strong supporter of African culture and I love everything African.

I want to encourage other states that whenever they have an important dignitary , they should take them to see their culture . ”
Also , the actor said , though Nollywood did a skit to welcome Macron , the visit was beyond the movie industry .

“ Nollywood did a skit but the importance of the visit goes beyond the movie industry . It was a plus for the entertainment and tourism industries . You know one of the ways we can export our culture is through entertainment , ” Elliot stated .

Why I Lost My Job At An Airtel Shop Today

Dear viewers today was a sad day a very sad day for me and my family ,Airtel Sim registration partners went on a sacking spree in Lagos an most part of Nigeria following the decision of the telecom operator to change the rules of the game midway with their partners. In a bid to expand the network , the Indian owned firm lured unsuspecting Nigerian business men and women in Lagos and other parts of the country with a profit story which they never intended to keep. The partners were mandated to open 5-10 Airtel express shops in Key locations for sim registration and to promote the brand in addition to 20- 30 mini shops, employing hundreds of people in the process, most of the parners invested more than 20 million in the process.

After withholding commission payout to our employers for almost 4 months which affected some of the welfare packages earlier promised. the telecoms firm wrote our employers a letter in the middle of June and backdated implementation to march informing the partners of a shift in goal post midway into the partnership.

Some of the partners who were expecting a pay out of between 5-7 million payment in commission for the period suddenly got 4000 to 250,00 commission pay out and cried foul play . On Monday partners in Lagos began a massive sack of employees in the Airtel shops, while others are preparing to take legal actions, some are already in talks with Globacom and MTN for partnership re-branding of their assets some of which are in located in key locations.

I was employed in February this year and received my sack letter today. I could not blame my Madam, she has been good to us and we saw how she has been labouring to pay us our salaries while waiting for Airtel .

She showed us all the documents and how Airtel tricked her and her husband into making huge investments only to renege midway.

As we go home without work we pray that Airtel and their partners will resolve thier differences so that we can return to work and support our families ,but if them no wan settle Abeg Glo and Mtn I dey here o

God Bless my hussle

JAMB: FG Tells Tertiary Institutions How Much To Charge For Post UTME

The Federal Government on Tuesday warned that it would sanction any tertiary institution which charges more than N2,000 for Post-UTME.

Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, gave the warning at the ongoing Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Gbongan, Osun.

Adamu said:
“At the 2017 policy meeting, I endorsed that any institution which was interested in conducting any form of Post-UTME screening could do so, but that the gross charge for the screening should not be more than N2,000.

“Once again, let me caution heads of tertiary institutions that it would not be tolerated for any institution to charge any fee beyond the approved two thousand naira (N2,000).

“Firmer sanctions than those of last session shall be applied to cases of violation,” the minister said.

Adamu, however, said that the policy meeting would continue to be the forum where the agenda, guidelines, modalities, and timelines would be set for the purpose of admissions to universities, polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education in Nigeria.

“Therefore, no admission to any tertiary institutions should be announced before the policy meeting.

“It is appreciated that the meeting is being held early enough for the commencement of the new session.

“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board should ensure that the policy meeting is now held not later than June every year”, Adamu said.

In his remarks, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, said UTME scores were not the cut off marks to gain admission into universities.

Oloyede said the marks were just minimum scores, adding that there were other assessments for consideration before a candidate could gain admission into tertiary institutions.

He also said that the number of candidates that were involved in examination malpractices in UTME had reduced drastically.
